February, short month, really short post...

Trying to remember what you did two months ago is kinda hard, at least for me so I'm sure there are some missed opportunities for laughter at my expense due to my forgetfulness. Apparently my forgetfulness also extended to taking pictures because half of the pictures below came from someone else...

Gavin wrote his first Valentines Card to his Daddy!! I was so proud of him!

Look at these sweet little boys snuggling on the couch while Clay and I went out on a date.

Besides the fact that Gavin is the most handsome little boy ever, that is actually Clay's jacket from when he was that age!!

Animated picture of all the boys swinging.  Its a new thing that Picasa does but looking at it makes me a little motion sick....scroll down quickly!!

Gavin with his favorite teacher, Ms. Teresa who is well on her way to sainthood!  And no, I don't regularly take him to school in his jammies, they had a special pajama day thank you very much!!

Seven Months!

Wyatt turned seven months old on March 2nd, and I know you are incredibly shocked at my tardiness in posting about it :-).

February was a big month for Wyatt, he met many milestones at lightning speed and hasn't given us a second to catch up ever since.

The milestone I am probably most proud of, even though the only thing I had to do with it was be jealous because I saw one of his classmates doing it and mention it to his teacher, is him drinking from a sippy cup!! He had just turned 6 months old when he started and hasn't looked back since.

On the 5th he also started his first non-baby foods with a little shredded cheese, which he absolutely loved!

Towards the middle of the month he went from eating the baby food from a jar at school to eating from the kitchen, although it is still blended, just not as much.  To help him with all of these new lumpier foods he acquired FIVE new teeth from 2/1 - 2/15!! Those were a rough couple of weeks.... All total he has 8 teeth, "All the better to eat you with my dear" And oh how he loves to give these gaping mouth kisses where you aren't really sure if he has been cannibalized and plans to chew off your nose or just give you sweet but slobbery kisses.

He is also really working on his crawling muscles, he is getting so super close.  He gets up on all fours and then rocks and rocks.  Sometimes he will get one leg going forward but then never brings the other.  He has mastered the sitting up from belly position which really surprised me and boy is he quick! One second he is on his belly and the next sitting straight up and you really don't even see the transition, Ha!

Speaking of solids, we finally had a decent day outside and Wyatt tried some super tasty grass while I was taking his picture.  Oh and just look at that belly!!

He also got to swing for the first time that day and he seemed to really enjoy it.

Below are some cute pictures from school, I couldn't decide which one was cuter so I just posted all three :)

No doctor appointments for stats although he did have a few sick visits but my sweet, wonderful husband took him to those and I didn't write down his weight.  His consumption didn't change that much over the month but here are the regular foods he is currently chomping on:
Cheese, Gerber puffs, yogurt melts, Vegetable cheese puffs (actually really tasty), cheerios, bits of french fries, and frozen bagels.  You have to watch him with those bagels though, the tiny ones defrost fast and he can break off big pieces to stuff in his mouth.

Completely forgot to post his 7 month calendar picture, probably because I took it way after he turned 7 months.  He has flat out stopped cooperating for these pictures...

Silly words by a super sweet and silly boy

Gavin has an exceptional vocabulary for a child his age, his understanding of words and their meaning and his conversational skills often make me forget that he is just three, which makes the pronunciations of certain words that much cuter.

-Lellow (yellow) What makes this so strange/funny is that he can pronounce the Y sound, they study a different letter each week at school and so on the Y week I was anxious to see how he pronounced all the words that they learned starting with Y.  So we were going over them and he would say Yak, Yarn, lellow.  And I said,  "no listen to the Y sound, yuh, yuh, yuk, say yak, yak, yellow" and he would repeat back to me, "Yak, Yak, Lellow"...  I couldn't help but laugh it was so cute.

-Teaf as in "Daddy is that your sweet teaf?"

- Yogrit, one of his top three most favorite foods, yogurt

- Jake a land pirate, one of the more tolerable Disney cartoons Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

- Stank you, but he only uses this one sporadically. It never fails to make me smile when he says "Stank you Mama"

- Printzels and Chippies

- Nola bar for granola bar, although we have probably just reinforced that pronunciation because now we call them nola bars as well, ha!

- Votional, We have the The One-Year Devotions for Preschoolers that we read every night before bed

 - And last but not least, Mrs. Sara, the wonderful lady who picks Gavin up and takes him to choir on Wednesdays told me a few weeks ago that one Wednesday after they got to church, Gavin told her that he had gotten "rain drops" on himself while in her car.  It was sweat, isn't that the cutest!!!

6 months old!!

Wyatt turned 6 months on 2/2/14.  6 months has flown by and Wyatt definitely has a personality all his own.  He loves his brother and looks adoringly at him anytime Gavin is in the room.  Gavin can also make him laugh like no one else.  It is so sweet but it also makes me sad when Gavin doesn't act the same in return.  Gavin loves him and is always sweet but just isn't on the same level, and I know it's completely normal, in fact I'm really surprised at how much Gavin interacts and loves on Wyatt because it sure wasn't like that with me and my little brother according to my parents :-).

Some of the things Wyatt is doing now, honestly I have waited so long to post this I really can't remember when he started most of it.  I am so not on top of things like I was with Gavin.

 - Rocking on all fours, he is super close to crawling.  His main way of moving is by rolling though and man is he fast!

 - Sitting without support

 - He makes all kinds of noises with his mouth

 - He has gone through and thoroughly enjoyed every fruit, vegetable, mixed meal stage 2 baby food they make.  He looks very longingly at our food and tries to grab it every chance he gets.

 - He has super human strength. He can grab nearly anything and it takes a lot to get it back out of his hands.  He is also super quiet and sneaky so you have to watch him or you never know what he will end up with.  I am not excited about what this will entail when he starts crawling...

- His legs are really strong as well, he can stand up when holding onto something so for all I know he is going to start cruising before he crawls.  I keep waiting to walk into his room and see him standing up in his crib...

 - His favorite song is Old MacDonald, I can be sure of this because this is what Gavin and I have to sing in the car on the way home to get him to stop crying, Ha!  He has stopped napping on the way home from daycare so he is a bit more grouchy at night than he used to be.

 - He takes 2 naps a day still one at 9 for about an hour and then a good 2 hr one at 1 and is in bed for good at 7.

 - He is still on the same amount of formula - 7.5 ounces 5 times a day.  His solid food has increased though at breakfast he has 2 Tbl of cereal with a jar of fruit and then at lunch he eats 1.5 jars of veggies/fruit and dinner consists of more cereal and a jar of veggies or fruit.

 - He LOVES baths!! Clay has started putting just a couple of inches of water in the tub and laying him down.  As soon as he hits the water he gets this HUGE grin on his face and starts splashing around like a maniac.  I would post the video of him which is super cute but since he is naked I get kinda worried about sickos seeing it.

A couple of pictures from his teachers of my little ham.

We had a couple of days of really cold weather in January.  I never thought I would have a use for this but I sure was glad we had it when we had those record cold days.  Thanks Anna!!  And isn't he just the cutest thing!

Hanging out at the bowling alley watching his Mama actually break 50, which has to be a record!

He is already like Gavin in the fact that now he refuses to be still for his monthly pictures, I tried to enlist the help of big brother this month without much more success.  I did get some cute ones though.

They must be teaching yoga at school because this is definitely a downward dog...

Wyatt's 6 month checkup and shots were about 2 weeks late but since I was so late in posting this it gets to be included :-)

Weight - 19.12 lbs - 75th percentile
Height - 27 inches - 75 percentile
Head - 17 inches....25 percentile   - He definitely go this from his Daddy because Gavin and I have monster size noggins!

January

January is always divided up into two parts before and after tax season starts.  The first half is almost always joyous followed by the last half being a tad bit less than joyous???

The first half is joyous because it is my birthday!! And I am one of those people who NEVER get tired of birthdays, never, never, never! Normally I celebrate it for quite some time but I got such a good birthday present this year that I decided to not drag it out :).  This year I got to go away for two days of reading and relaxation by myself followed by two days of just me and Clay.  I missed the boys terribly but having dinner with my brother and almost sister-in-law helped and not to mention the entire day at a spa...

So we divided the boys up Wyatt stayed with Tammy B. and Gavin stayed with Uncle Dave and 'Pril.  Gavin had so much fun I'm pretty positive he didn't miss us a bit.

This year the onset of tax season was made a little more difficult because Clay went on my brother's epic bachelor party/vacation.  I would bet that most bachelor parties don't last 4 days but leave it to my brother to stretch it out as far as possible.   So I had to get creative in how to entertain the boys by myself over the weekend.  Thankfully a friend reminded me about the Tunes for Tots so I strapped Wyatt in the baby carrier and tried to hold on to Gavin.  I wish I could have taken more pictures, it was nearly impossible with Wyatt and the crowd, Gavin was so cute trying to play all of those brass instruments.  He kept putting the mouthpiece inside his mouth and neither the instructor or I could seem to explain to him in a way that he understood to put it on the outside of your mouth.  It was really funny but I guess you had to be there.... :)

I feel like we must have done something the rest of the month but I sure can't remember what it was if we did.  I do know that we played a lot at home so maybe we didn't....it was pretty rainy and cold.  Anyway here are some pictures from the month.

Wyatt is a bouncing machine!!  Look at those chunky thighs, just love them!

Clay brought Gavin and I back hats from the bachelor trip to the mountains, aren't we cute.

Wyatt sure was glad to see his Daddy!

We go through more Amazon, Luvs, and Pampers boxes than I can even count so one afternoon I had the bright idea that Gavin and Clay make "cars" out of them, they could use the Pampers for Wyatt and a big Amazon one for Gavin.  I just figured that Clay and Gavin could decorate them and it would keep Gavin entertained and out of everything else.  Well I should have known that Clay couldn't be happy with a handful of crayons/markers.  He had to go all out and actually cut the boxes to look like cars, well of course that meant Gavin couldn't help but it's pointless to try and stop the creative genius once he gets going :).  Gavin and Wyatt did have fun with them though.

Poor Wyatt, those teeth are giving him a fit!

Just one more example of how creative Clay is.  This is from the "snow" day that the boys had from school on the 30th.

5 months old!

Wyatt has had a big month!

He ate his first veggies and we haven't found a vegetable or fruit that he doesn't like!

So far he has had carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, green peas, green beans, apple sauce, and peaches.  He doesn't like the consistency of the Stage 1 so we mix it with his oatmeal to really thicken it up or give him stage 2.
Right now his feeding schedule is:
6 am - 7.5 oz
8:30 - 9:00 am -  7.5 oz and 2 TB cereal w/1/2 jar of fruit or veggies
12:30 - 7.5 oz and 2 TB cereal w/1/2 jar of fruit or veggies
3:30 - 4:00 pm - 7.5 oz
6:30 - 7:00 pm - 7.5 oz and 2 TB cereal w/1/2 jar of fruit or veggies

He naps from 9 - 10 and 1 - 3.  We had a rough month with the sleeping at night.  It started with him pooping several times a night and then it just became a habit to wake up.  So we started to break him of it towards the end and I think we are going to be back to sleeping solidly quickly.

Wyatt also sprouted his first two teeth!!  I couldn't believe it but it sure did explain all of the drooling and poops!!  He is still drooling like a maniac so I figure another couple of teeth are going to be making an entrance soon.

Our big boy has started sitting up by himself and has gotten pretty steady but he still only lasts for a minute or so and then topples so I have to make sure he is on the padded carpet and not the wood floors when I let him go.  He has also gotten really good about moving across the floor, he isn't crawling yet but definitely getting closer and closer.

His favorite thing to do right now is grab things off of the table and either put them in his mouth or throw them on the floor.  This was especially evident at a trip to Chick Fil A a couple of weeks ago.  We had set the tray down on the table and were getting his food out of the bag when all of the sudden, WHAP! There went the entire tray of food onto the floor.  Apparently he was showing his displeasure with the food situation.  You can tell he wants to eat regular food SO bad!!

Another favorite activity for him is bath time!  This baby LOVES the water!!  Recently we have started letting him bathe with Gavin, and let me tell you that is an activity that takes 100% of both of us. Wyatt loves the water so much that all he wants to do is move around so one of us has to hold him under the arms while the other washes.  Clay has started letting him "float" on his back.  He gets so incredibly excited it is hilarious!  He starts flapping his arms and kicking his legs and then makes the funniest face when he accidentally splashes himself with water.  I keep meaning to get a video of it, but haven't yet.

He is still the sweetest baby and loves to give hugs and open mouth kisses.  He is also super fond of yanking on my hair and then refusing to let go.... guess he just likes to make sure I'm not going anywhere.
