14 months old!

This month has passed by so quickly!  And with good reason, we have been crazy busy!  We have made 3 trips to Emory to see Clay's Mom, celebrated our 9 year anniversary, and gone on vacation for a few days for the 4th. Oh and last weekend I helped two friends move and we all attended a family reunion!  So it is kind of crazy that Gavin learned how to do anything other than survive the long hours in his car seat this month :-).  Poor guy has been such a trooper.  Don't get me wrong, he definitely voices his displeasure at being in his car seat, but for the amount of traveling we have done, he has been such a wonderful little boy!!

I have tried to teach him a few signs like all-done, more, and milk.  Well the only one we really stuck with was all-done.  And he caught on pretty quick although he doesn't have the hand movements quite right, but we get the picture.  Plus he makes some noises that could possibly be interpreted into the words all done.  Anyway, on our return trip home from Emory on Father's Day we were getting close to Tifton when Gavin woke up from a nap.  Well he was fit to be tied and when I looked back there he was sobbing and had his little hands in the air doing the motion for all done!  Oh my word, I thought my itty bitty heart would break right then and there!  Just tore me up inside!  So when we got to Tifton Clay pulled over and got in the back seat with him and entertained while I drove us the rest of the way home.  I would have done it but I get so car sick that it would have been bad for both me and Gavin.

Mama and Dada (instead of everyone and thing being Dada)  Gavin does have this new word Dadoo that we aren't sure if it is a new word or Clay's new name.  Clay says he refuses to be called Dadoo! Ha-ha!!

Some other things he has started to do are:
Run -the little joker is fast too!
Wave bye-bye
Blow kisses - he uses this to win the hearts of each and every lady he deems worthy or wants something from.
Try and give us a "cute face" by leaning his head to the side. I think he thinks he will get his way, that way.
He can point to his ear when you ask him where it is.  But he also points to his ear when asked where his eyes, nose, mouth, or any other body part is also, ha-ha.
And he has been in the big kids class (2 yr old) all summer so he has learned to color/scribble which delights me because I can now hang his pictures on the refrigerator.

One other thing that he has mastered is a tan.  I realized yesterday that his arms are more tan than mine, sob-sob.  I am pastier than nearly everyone I know except my Mom :-).  But he has such a farmer's tan, when you take off his shirt it is a blast of pure white!

The ones below are of us on Sunday playing with the new little train that moves on its own.  Gavin was kinda freaked out by it moving all by itself at first, especially when it ran into the wall and made some loud noises. But soon he got used to it and would go and grab it and bring it to me or Clay and make us put it back down on the floor again then sit in our lap just to watch it go for a foot or two before getting up, grabbing it again and repeating the rest of the process 20+ times.  It was so nice though to have him sit still in my lap and let me snuggle him, if only for a few minutes.

Gavin looks so sad in this one but I promise he wasn't that was just how intently he was staring at the train coming back to him.
